Jalen Ramsey Shuts Down Top Receiver, Gets Ejected Sunday

Jalen Ramsey showed why he is one of the top young defensive backs in the NFL Sunday – before getting ejected for fighting with a receiver from Oakland.

For years, fans of the Florida State Seminoles have known what kind of talent Jalen Ramsey has on the field of play. The former All-American dominated the defense for three seasons, helping to secure his spot as a top five pick in this year’s NFL Draft.

Now, the rest of the pros are getting to see all of Jalen’s skills each and every week. Sunday, the Jacksonville Jaguars rookie practically put a lid on the best receiver on the Oakland Raiders, holding Amari Cooper to a single catch when the two went against each other:

Cooper had four catches total on the day for 29 yards, so he had some success when Ramsey wasn’t on him.

Late in the Radiers’ big win, Ramsey and Johnny Holton got into it – sending both to the locker room just a tad before the final whistle:

So far in 2016, Jalen Ramsey has come up with 20 tackles and been the centerpiece of a Jaguars’ secondary that has shown improvement from years before – but still sits with a 2-4 record on the season after Sunday’s loss.
