ISU lineman Scoggins out for the year with knee injury
For the second time in the past two seasons, Iowa State has lost a lineman for the year.
Back-up center Patrick Scoggins will miss the rest of the season after rupturing a tendon that attaches the quad to the patellar Monday.
"I try not to allow myself to be frustrated," Iowa State coach Paul Rhoads said to the Des Moines Register. "It's a violent game."
Last season, Ben Louth torn an ACL on the first day of fall camp. ISU also lost receiver Quenton Bundrage, the team's top receiver was hurt for the season during the first game of the year.
