Is Alani Fua the next Cougar to be an NFL star?
Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 248 pounds, BYU linebacker Alani Fua has the size to compete at the next level. At the BYU pro-day he had a 4.73 40-time, showing scouts that he also has the speed to play in the NFL.
Fua missed three games in 2014, but still came out with decent stats, despite a slight drop-off. He recorded one more sack in 2014 than 2013, but his total tackles went down significantly: He dropped from 63 total tackles in 2013 to just 42 in 2014.
The former Cougar defensive anchor could be a diamond in the rough and find success as a 3-4 linebacker in the NFL.
