Iron Bowl guest: It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Cam Newton

The latest player to hoist the Heisman Trophy to have played in the Iron Bowl, former Auburn great Cam Newton will be on The Plains to serve as an honorary coach for the Tigers Saturday.

"He's coming at a good time," head coach Gus Malzhan said this week.

Malzahn, then the offensive coordinator with Auburn, recalled Newton's spectacular Iron Bowl come from behind victory in 2010.

"I remember at halftime we were making adjustments and Cam just kinda took over a little bit and challenged everyone," Malzahn said. "We went out there and scored the second play of the third quarter and he came to the sideline and said, 'we're fixin' to beat these boys.' From then on you could kinda sense it. I think everybody kinda sensed we got the momentum. He led us back."

The frontrunner for 2015 NFL MVP, can Newton's presence alone lift the Tigers to another surprise victory over Alabama?
