Iowa's Desmond King named Thorpe Award semifinalist
Coming into his junior season, Desmond King was one of the players that needed to play well for the Hawkeyes to have a successful season.
The cornerback out of Detroit has certainly done that this season. Through seven games, he leads the Big Ten with six interceptions, including two multiple interception games. His hard work is being recognized as he was named a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award which is given to the top defensive back in college football.
King has already tied the Hawkeyes single-season record for interceptions and will play a large role in the Hawkeyes trying to remain undefeated.
