Indiana trying to accomplish something it hasn't since the mid-1940s

A lot is on the line Saturday for Indiana when the Hoosiers play at Purdue.

The Hoosiers can improve to 6-6 with a win, making them bowl eligible for the first time under coach Kevin Wilson.

That would seem to do a lot for Wilson's job security, but the Indianapolis Star notes it would also mean his team has accomplished something the Hoosiers haven't since the mid 1940s: Win the Old Oaken Bucket three years in a row.

The last time that happened? When Indiana beat its up-state rival in four straight meetings from 1944-47.
