Indiana to fire head football coach Kevin Wilson after six seasons
Indiana will dismiss head coach Kevin Wilson, a source told FOX Sports on Thursday.
A team meeting has been scheduled for 5:30 p.m. local time and an Indiana press conference will follow at 6 p.m. to explain more about the firing.
A source said that the move stems from off-field issues.
The 55-year-old Wilson led the Hoosiers to a 6-6 record this season in the toughest division in college football, the Big Ten East. Wilson was 26-47 in six seasons at IU but showed marked improvements on the field since his 1-11 debut season.
In 2015, Indiana made a bowl game for the first time in his tenure and finished 6-7. The Hoosiers’ four wins in Big Ten play this season were the most by an IU team in 15 years.
I would expect DC Tom Allen to be named the interim HC at #Indiana.
