The Badgers offense has been a work in progress for most of the season but the defense has been great. The Badgers defense boasts the fifth ranked scoring defense in the FBS, allowing just 13.8 points a contest. They have allowed more than 20 points in just one game this season.

Junior linebacker T.J. Watt leads the defense in sacks with seven and tackles for loss with 9.5. Watt ranks second in the conference in sacks.

The Wisconsin offense is led by running back Corey Clement. He’s ran for 805 rushing yards and seven touchdowns this season.

The Illinois Fighting Illini are still trying to find an identity in Lovie Smith’s first season as head coach. They are 3-6 on the season and 2-4 in Big Ten play. They have won two out of their last five games.

The Illini got a big victory last week over the Michigan State Spartans but the challenge gets bigger this week with the Badgers. Freshman Jeff George Jr. has emerged as the starter for Illinois last week and threw for 140 yards and two touchdowns in the victory last week.

Starter Wes Lunt has missed the last four games with a back injury. George Jr. has played decent for the Fighting Illini with 391 passing yards and four touchdowns but he’s completed 42.3 percent of his passes.

Running back Kendrick Foster leads the team in rushing yards and touchdowns with 596 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.
