The Mountaineers routed Kansas 48–21 last Saturday, handing the Jayhawks their 40th straight loss on the road. Quarterback Skyler Howard threw three touchdown passes and ran for two more scores in the victory.
West Virginia (7-1, 4–1 Big 12) needs to win out and needs some help to have a chance at the conference title.
Texas comes into the game off an impressive 45–37 victory over Texas Tech. Texas tailback D'Onta Foreman ran 33 times for 341 yards with three touchdowns against the Red Raiders, and now has 1,446 yard sand 13 touchdowns on the season.
West Virginia won last year's game 38–20.
