Horned Frogs could be without Boykin's No. 1 target

Josh Doctson's status for Saturday's game remains unclear, coach Gary Patterson told reporters Monday.

The nation's leading receiver left TCU's loss Saturday at Oklahoma State in the second quarter after a defender landed on his arm. It is believed that Doctson injured his wrist or hand, but Patterson said he had no further information about the severity of the injury.

"I’m being honest with you,” Patterson said Monday during the Big 12 coaches conference call. “I haven’t heard any [updates]. I don’t have anything to report yet. So, we’ll see.”

Doctson has set single-season records for receptions and touchdown catches. He ranks No. 1 in the nation in total receiving yards (1,315) and No. 2 in receptions with 78.

According to Patterson, injured receivers Ty Slanina and Emanuel Porter could return soon, although it's not known if that means Saturday against the winless Kansas Jayhawks.
