Hokies Bowl Selection

The latest reports say the Hokies will be playing in either the Belk Bowl or the Russell Athletic Bowl.

If the Hokies were to play in the Belk Bowl they would play against a SEC team and according to a source here at Fighting Gobbler it would be against either Florida or Arkansas.

Arkansas defeated Florida in the regular season, 31-10. However Florida went on to finish the regular season 8-4 and a SEC record of 6-2. Florida got routed by Alabama in the SEC Championship, 56-14.

For Arkansas, they finished the regular season 7-5 with a 3-5 SEC record. Arkansas finished the final six games going 3-3.

Both Florida and Arkansas could spell out trouble for the Hokies but both teams are also beatable.

The other scenario would be the Hokies traveling back to Orlando, Florida to play in the Russell Athletic Bowl against Oklahoma State.

On Saturday the Cowboys faced off against their in-state rival Oklahoma. The Sooners were no match for the Cowboys as they went on to win, 38-20.

The Cowboys went on to finish the season 9-3 with a 7-2 record in the BIG 12.

Good news for the Hokies is if they face off against the Cowboys they won’t have to prepair for a running style quarterback like they’ve faced most of the season.

No matter if it’s the Belk Bowl or the Russell Athletic Bowl, one thing can be guaranteed, the Hokies will travel with their team. If the Hokies play in the Belk Bowl 89 percent of the stands will be maroon and orange with Hokie faithful.
