Hempel leads Harvard to 41-23 win over Brown
Conner Hempel accounted for 318 yards of offense and two touchdowns while leading Harvard to a 41-23 win over Brown Saturday night.
Hempel was 16 of 22 for 296 yards, including a 63-yard TD pass to Ricky Zorn. Hempel also rushed for 22 yards and one touchdown in his second career start.
After falling behind 13-0, Harvard (2-0, 1-0 Ivy League) scored 31 unanswered points, including two rushing touchdowns by Paul Stanton Jr., who finished the night with 91 yards on 16 carries.
The Crimson also forced four Bear (1-1, 0-1) turnovers, the last a fourth quarter interception by Norman Hayes to thwart any hope of a Brown comeback.
John Spooney rushed for two TDs and had a game-high 110 rushing yards to lead the Bears. It was Spooney's second straight game with over 100 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
Harvard has a 14-game home winning streak.
