Heeney planning on being drafted, but says he'll be unfazed if not

There have been varying opinions about former Kansas linebacker Ben Heeney heading into the NFL Draft. Most are impressed by his athleticism, but there's a certain negative stat that keeps being repeated, one that Heeney isn't too happy about. He led the nation in missed tackles last season.

"It's a bull… stat," he tells the Wichita Eagle. "I don't care about that stat. It’s not like freaking Joe Schmoe is going through every single college football player and counting all their missed tackles. It's an inaccurate stat."

Regardless of the red flag associated with his draft stock due to the seemingly unflattering statistic, Heeney will more than likely be taken by an NFL team in this week's draft.

"I'm not worried about anything, man," the 6-foot, 230-pound linebacker says. "I've done what I've done, my whole career. I'm planning on getting drafted. But even if I don't get drafted, I don't even care.

"Because wherever I'm going, I'll try out for the team, and I'll make the team. I'm not worried about that."
