Hawkeyes are ready to put last season in rear view

Kirk Ferentz' message has been consistent as he spanned the state. He finished his list of appearances on Monday and told the I-Club members he is ready to move on from last year's disappointment.

He offered this up about the 7-6 finish per the QC Times:

“What happened late last season is like a wound, it leaves a scar that will always be there as a reminder, but you have to move forward,’’ Ferentz said. “None of us were happy with the way the season ended, but I do feel good about how our players have gone about things since.’’

Hope springs eternal this season though with C.J. Beathard taking the reigns at quarterback. If he justifies the coaching staff's faith in him and the Hawkeyes get back to playing their type of defense, a bounceback season could be in order.
