Greenwald returning to Iowa as honorary captain

Former University of Iowa defensive back Brett Greenwood will serve as honorary captain when the Hawkeyes host the Pitt Panthers on Saturday evening.

The former walk-on suffered a neck injury, a combination of a stinger and a jammed neck. His career was over that night but he was made a permanent captain by the Hawkeyes and will make his triumphant return on Saturday.

Greenwood earned second team All-Big Ten honors as both a junior and senior. He helped Iowa post a 28-11 record in his final three seasons, including wins in the Outback, FedEx Orange and Insight bowl games.
