Graduate transfer target Catalina thrilled about trip to Georgia

Although not a top-tier high school prospect, Tyler Catalina may be one of the most important targets for the Georgia football program in regards to its 2016 recruiting class.

A graduate transfer from Rhode Island, the big left tackle prospect is verbally committed to Iowa State. This pledge has yet to be made official -- meaning Catalina is still technically a recruitable athlete.

After visiting both Iowa State and Florida, Catalina will head south to Auburn. Before he does that, he will trip to Georgia this upcoming weekend -- something he appears immensely excited about.

In an interview with 247Sports, Catalina spoke about his fondness for the Bulldogs' program growing up.

"Growing up, as a kid, I was always watching them every Saturday. I love the red and black uniforms," said Catalina. "When I got that call, it made me very happy and I'm happy to come down there this weekend."

With Georgia lacking in depth and experience up front, Catalina would be an instant-impact player on both fronts. The Massachusetts native is hoping to solely understand the in's-and-out's of the Georgia program.

"As cliche as it sounds, I love talking football with coaches, understanding what they're trying to do and how they see me fitting in their schemes and their offense," said Catalina. "It's a huge opportunity."
