Glasgow plugging the middle for Michigan defense

A team does not get to be among the best in college football without being tough up front, and that is the case at Michigan so far this season.

In his weekly Monday press conference, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh praised a several linemen for their contributions so far for the Wolverines: nose tackle Ryan Glasgow, end Willie and tackles Matt Godin and Maurice Hurst Jr.

“Just really good, better than solid," Harbaugh said per MGoBlog when asked about Glasgow's play so far this season. "It’s been outstanding. High motor all the time, and you see it in practice every day. I’ve never seen him take a play off, and it shows up in the games. It’s the way he practices, the way he plays. Really asserted himself from the first day we got here in the spring. I know he was a good player before that, but I’ve just seen day after day after day of being a really good football player."

Glasgow has four tackles for loss among his 11 stops this season. Hurst also has four tackles for loss, including three sacks, while Henry has 3.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. Godin has 1.5 sacks.

“Mo Hurst, Willie Henry, they’re doing the same thing. Matt Godin, really good too," Harbaugh said. "Willie Henry and Mo Hurst probably had the best games from a defensive line standpoint when you talk about tackles for loss or sack, disrupting plays. Ryan’s been outstanding all year.”
