Georgia star Chubb talks attention, season goal

Nick Chubb has never been one to seek out the media spotlight. In fact, his lack of social media presence became news in and of itself this offseason, as the Georgia star and Heisman Trophy candidate compared himself to a Lamborghini in terms of a "no need to advertise" policy.

But Chubb, who ran for 1,547 yards and 14 touchdowns last year as a freshman after stepping into the starting role partway through the season, opened up a bit this week in a Q&A with Georgia site Dawg Nation.

Of his newfound fame, Chubb told Dawg Nation, "People want to see me and greet me. I enjoy it, but sometimes I have to kind of fall back in the shadows and try to be unseen. I don’t want to have to deal with it sometimes. I’ll glance and I see them looking and they just know it’s me. That’s crazy."

That attention likely won't diminish any time soon, so to get away from it, Chubb said he likes to go "back home," referring to Cave Springs, Ga. He added, "I can get away there. That’s just home for me. People are going to see me there and just say 'good job,' but not much more than that."

Chubb also explained that while he's more comfortable this season, he hasn't set individual expectations and really only has one goal with the season approaching.

"We want to be national champion. But that’s a long ways away. We have a lot of work to put in before that. But I just want us to be the best team in America."
