Florida hires Scott as tight ends coach to replace Seider

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) Florida has hired Larry Scott as tight ends coach, filling an opening created by the departure of Ju'Juan Seider.

Seider left the Gators this week to become running backs coach at Penn State. Seider spent one year coaching running backs at Florida.

New coach Dan Mullen shifted Seider to tight ends coach after his arrival.

Scott joins the Gators following a two-year stint as Tennessee. He served as special teams coordinator and tight ends coach in 2016 and as offensive coordinator and tight ends coach in 2017.

Scott is a Florida native and has spent much of his career coaching in the Sunshine State. He attended South Florida and coached there from 2006-12. He also coached at Miami from 2013-15.

Mullen says ''we are excited to have someone of coach's Scott's coaching experience and background in the state of Florida.''
