Flood credits president for potential facilities upgrades
Rutgers Scarlet Knights coach Kyle Flood knows to compete in the Big Ten, he needs training facilities that are on par with his opponents throughout the conference.
With hope those will be coming after plans were unveiled in June, he told reporters at Big Ten Football Media Days on Friday he is grateful for the support of university higher-ups.
"The most important I think part of that was that the president is behind it, and when Bob Barchi, the president of Rutgers University, decides that this is important to him and important to the university, I know that everybody else is going to line up behind him and make sure it gets done," Flood said. "So we're excited about that.
"Every year we've done things to improve our football facility. This will be a more expansive overhaul than we have done in the past, and we're looking forward to getting started."
As part of the plans, the football team will no longer have to share its facility with Rutgers golf, lacrosse and tennis teams.
