Five-star recruit Nick Bosa discusses what he likes about the Florida Gators
Being the brother of a star college player, not to mention likely top NFL Draft selection, was sure to get Nick Bosa attention on the recruiting trail, but don't think the younger Bosa's stock is based purely on name merit.
With nearly every major program offering Bosa a place on their team, the five-star defensive lineman has narrowed his options down to three finalists: Ohio State, Florida and Florida State.
The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native recently spoke to ESPN about his recruitment.
“I’m just getting ready to take a couple of visits right now,” Said Bosa. “I’m not ready to make a decision yet. I just want to visit Florida and Florida State, and then I will be ready to decide."
On what he likes about the Gators: "Florida has always been a top program. They are in my home state, and I have always been a fan of them. I just want to go check it out. I’ve never taken a trip there as a recruit so I want to go check it out."
When will Bosa visit his two Florida finalists? “I want to take my two visits this summer to Florida and Florida State with my parents, and then I think I will be able to make my commitment. So sometime this summer before the season begins."
What does he ultimately need to see from a school to earn his commitment? “The No. 1 thing is having a D-line coach [who] can help me play to my full potential in the years I am there. And just a guy that I have a good relationship with, and then stability with the coaches and coaching staff. That’s a big thing too.”
While most assume Bosa will follow his brother's path to Ohio State, don't be surprised if Bosa chooses his own path. With Joey Bosa projected as high as the top overall prospect in the 2016 NFL Draft, the brothers are most likely not going to see the field together in college no matter what school Nick selects.
