Favre could pay steep ‘phone bill'

Brett Favre has yet to comment on Deadspin.com's accusations that he sent sexually inappropriate text messages and photos to female Jets employees.

I'm thinking it could be a long time before Favre is out of the Tiger Woods on this story.

By the way, am I the only one who thinks, if the allegations are true, Favre and Woods should become roommates in a reality show remake of "The Odd Couple"? Favre would be the disheveled Oscar, Woods would be the meticulous Felix and they'd have to figure out how to share one cell phone.

T.O.: TWITTER ON

Terrell Owens violated the NFL's rules against using social media within 90 minutes of a kickoff when he posted a Twitter message Sunday.

On a positive note, the Tweet did not include any links to photos of any part of Favre.

START SPREADIN' THE NEWS

New York mayor Michael Bloomberg said on his radio show he is already planning the Yankees' World Series championship parade. This seems premature, kind of like Favre planning his next family vacation.

A BOISE STATE OF MIND

According to projections by expert analysts, Boise State would be the No.1 college football team if the Bowl Championship Series standings came out today.

Some say that will change down the road, however, because Boise State's strength of schedule takes a hit with upcoming games against 1-5 San Jose State, 2-4 Louisiana Tech and a winless youth flag football team from Utah.

CLUELESS CALHOUN

The University of Connecticut has self-imposed two years' probation and the loss of a scholarship in admitting major NCAA recruiting violations in its men's basketball program.

The school says coach Jim Calhoun is not to blame for his staff's impermissible phone calls and text messages. Look for a paperweight on Calhoun's desk to read "The buck passes through here."

THIRD TIME NOT A CHARM

Atlanta Braves second baseman Brooks Conrad committed three errors in the Braves' 3-2 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Sunday. If the Giants go on to win the World Series, they'll receive a congratulatory phone call from President Obama. Conrad is in line to receive a condolence call from Bill Buckner.
