Ex-Michigan QB Speight indicates he’s moving to UCLA
LOS ANGELES (AP) Former Michigan quarterback Wilton Speight has indicated on social media that he is transferring to UCLA.
Speight posted a short video on his Instagram account Thursday night showing the Rose Bowl and the UCLA logo, along with the words: ''new chapter.''
Speight could play immediately for coach Chip Kelly's Bruins as a graduate transfer.
Speight started for Michigan for the past two seasons. He passed for 2,538 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2016, but was sidelined for the season last fall after four games with three broken vertebrae.
UCLA must replace three-year starting quarterback Josh Rosen this fall on Kelly's first team in Westwood. Speight joins a pool of candidates including Devon Modster and incoming freshman Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
