Everything going the Kellys' way: Chad defeats 'Bama and Jim winning over cancer

Whether it's Chad leading the way for Ole Miss on the field or his Uncle Jim battling through a deadly disease off the field, the Kelly's are proving to be the most fortunate family in football this weekend.

Jim, the former Buffalo star quarterback and NFL Hall of Famer, joined NFL Network recently to give an update on his health and show his support for his nephew after Ole Miss won at Alabama in arguably the most impressive win of the season for any college football team.

While this weekend was huge for the family, things have not always been so rosy for the Kellys. In 2013, Jim was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma and had to once again battle for his life when his cancer returned in 2014.

Chad came to Ole Miss via junior college, after he was kicked off Clemson's team when he failed to earn the starting quarterback following the Tajh Boyd era. That wasn't Chad's first issue in football, as he was also kicked off his high school team as a sophomore for undisclosed reasons.

Jim appears to have made a full recovery and Chad looks good, when he has no business converting plays like this:

If his Jim Kelly's nephew continues his level of play, an Ole Miss team loaded with talent will likely be the favorite in every game they play between now and the title game.
