Duke football players to double as track stars at Penn Relays

Among Duke's track team are two familiar names for those who follow football at the school.

They are DeVon Edwards and Ryan Smith.

Edwards, a safety, and Smith, a wide receiver, will compete at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia this weekend, according to Brett Friedlander of Star News Online. Edwards, who is an All-ACC performer, has an impressive, 10.73-second time in the 100 meters to his name.

"I’m happy for them and I think it’s great for Duke track and field," head coach David Cutcliffe said in a teleconference, via Friedlander.

It's kind of Coach Cutcliffe to share his speediest playmakers with the rest of Duke athletics.
