Duke coach pens heartfelt letter to injured Pitt RB Conner
It’s no secret that Duke's David Cutcliffe is an excellent football coach, but it turns out he’s also a really good guy.
Upon learning about the season-ending knee injury to Pitt’s Heisman hopeful running back James Conner, Cutcliffe, the 2013 National Coach of the Year penned a letter to Conner wishing him a speedy recovery on behalf of Duke University.
Thank you coach @DavidCutcliffe and @Duke_FB for the well wishes! Means a lot I appreciate it! pic.twitter.com/2VuHRBGdjc

Last season, Conner rushed for 1,765 yards and had 26 touchdowns, earning him ACC Player of the Year.
The speedy junior got off to a fast start in the Pitt’s season-opening victory over Youngstown State as well, rushing for 77 yards and two touchdowns on eight attempts before he sustained a torn MCL.
Pitt (2-0) will be back in action this Saturday when it plays at Iowa, while Duke (2-0) will play host to Northwestern.
