Ducks OC Scott Frost: Vernon Adams Jr. is 'doing a great job' at practice
While he has only been around the Oregon program for a couple of days, Vernon Adams Jr. is already making a strong impression on offensive coordinator Scott Frost.
"Vernon is doing a great job," Frost said, according to ESPN's Chantel Jennings. "I can see why he has been a great player at the lower level. I can see why he has won a lot of games. Whoever was coaching him before did a great job with him."
Adams is expected to compete with redshirt junior Jeff Lockie for Oregon's starting quarterback job; however, he'll only have another 19 days to catch up on Oregon's offense before the season kicks off.
Frost believes that Adams is adjusting well to the offense, but that his understand of the little details will help further his development.
"There's just so many little details to learn when you come in new," Frost said, according to Jennings. "You learn those things over time. We'll keep trying to force-feed him and jam as many things into his head as his head can hold."
