Dean Lowry named to Lott IMPACT watch list

The Lott IMPACT award is now in it's 12th year and they have announced their watch list for this upcoming season. The award is given to a student-athlete based on both athletic ability and character attributes. The acronym for IMPACT is Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.

The Northwestern Wildcats have a player on this list, Dean Lowry who was an Academic All-Big Ten and Honorable Mention All-Big Ten as a junior when he had 8 tackles for loss. Ronnie Lott who is the namesake for the award has been very proud of the work they have done according to the official site:

“I am equally proud of the fact that we have raised so much money for a variety of charities, including universities, and the fact that the players we have honored over these past 11 years have made significant impacts in their communities as well as on the field in the NFL,” said Ronnie Lott, the Hall of Famer whose name graces the award.
