Davis embracing leadership role as MSU veteran

Ed Davis is one of seven returning starters on the Michigan State defense this spring, and he is embracing the increased responsibilities that come with age.

"I have my own way of leading," Davis told MLive.com. "I think I lead by example with my play on the field, and also in the film room. I don't have to grill somebody in everybody's face, I can talk to them one on one."

Davis was the starting SAM linebacker for the Spartans last season and finished fourth on the team with 58 tackles. He was an honorable mention All-Big Ten pick and could be in line for more featured role this fall.
