David Shaw says close call vs. WSU is 'a sign of a good team'

Stanford's 30-28 win over Washington State this past Saturday wasn't pretty, but head coach David Shaw believes that the sign of a good team is the ability to win games when you're not at your best.

"It's a sign of a good team to go on the road, in bad weather, against a team playing its best, and find a way to win,'' Shaw said, per the San Jose Mercury News

Shaw also acknowledged that almost every team in the country will face a game like the one Stanford faced in Pullman.

"Every team has a game like this," said Shaw. "It's not the way you draw it up, and it took being fortunate.''
