I made a post back at the beginning of the year based on a report from The Los Angeles Times, wondering if USC would be paying Kiffin to beat them in Arlington at the beginning of the season. Sadly, those payments stopped in June of this year according to Al.com’s report.
To make up for the payments, Kiffin will be paid $1.4 million from July 1 until February 28, 2017. Many think this could be Kiffin’s last season as the Tide offensive coordinator, especially if there’s an attractive head coaching job that comes open.
If nothing comes open that interests Kiffin or it’s a job in an area he doesn’t want to be in, he could always stick around for another season and I don’t think Crimson Tide fans would mind that. I’d put the probability of him leaving as more than staying.
The new skipper for the Tide baseball team, Greg Goff, got a five-year deal that pays $450,000 a year with bonuses for academic and on the field performance.
Softball coach Patrick Murphy will receive $305,000 and will see that increase by $5000 in years three and five.
Both golf coaches, the track and field coach, both tennis coaches, and the rowing coach all received raises as well.
