Could Indiana establish a Cincinnati recruiting pipeline?

Getting one of the top-rated quarterback prospects in Ohio is nice, but we can't blame Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson for wanting more.

In this case, we mean more players from the high school football hotbed of Cincinnati, where future Hoosier signal-caller Peyton Ramsey is a junior at Elder High School.

Ramsey verbally committed last week, and his father told The Hoosier Scoop that Wilson and his staff have made inroads in the Queen City that go beyond his son. Doug Ramsey is no average dad, though. He is the long-time head coach at Elder, and his former players include Eric Wood of the Buffalo Bills and Kyle Rudolph of the Minnesota Vikings.

"I think Indiana is one of those places where, if you can just get a kid to come over there and look around and see what it’s like, you have a chance," Doug Ramsey told Hoosier Scoop. "I think that’s starting to happen a little bit. Hopefully, it’s a thing where we can get some more guys to go over. Maybe I can be a semi-recruiter, myself, and try to get some kids to go that way, too.”
