Cops: Gator barked at cop dog, jailed

Florida football players and arrests have been all too common. However, there is nothing ordinary about the reason linebacker Antonio Morrison was busted.

Gatorcountry.com reports that the soon-to-be sophomore was arrested Sunday after allegedly barking at a police dog. Yes, you read that correctly: barking at a police dog.

VIOLATION DESCRIPTION: PUBLIC ORDER CRIMES: HARASS TEASE INTERFERE POLICE FIRE SAR ANIMAL

This is the same Morrison who was arrested earlier this offseason and charged with simple battery after police allege he assaulted a bouncer at a hookah lounge.

According to Gator Country, Morrison received deferred prosecution for that incident, requiring him to pay $100 to the state for court costs, make a $150 donation to CDS Family & Behavioral Services, complete 12 hours of community service, complete a Florida drug and alcohol education program, attend an anger management program, and participate in two hour ride-alongs with UF police.

As you would expect, the incidents earned Morrison a prime slot in coach Will Muschamp's doghouse ... sorry. After Sunday's news, Muschamp announced Morrison is suspended for the team's first two games.

The good news: The charges were dropped.

Alabama beat reporter Cecil Hurt of the Tuscaloosa News tried to offer some possible reasons for the alleged crime.
