Connecticut WR gives verbal commitment to Rutgers

Rutgers kicked off July with a verbal commitment from Isaiah Wright, a three-star wide receiver from Kingwsood Oxford School in Connecticut.

Wright is the No. 1-rated player at his position in his home state and No. 16 in the East according to Scout.com.

He told NJ.com the potential for early playing time was a big factor in his decision.

"They said that I have the opportunity to go in there and be on the field as soon as possible," he said. "I can potentially start, so that's good to me."

He is the 16th player to commit to Rutgers for 2016 and picked the Scarlet Knights over other offers that included Connecticut, Maryland and Wisconsin.
