Colgate beats Bucknell for 10th straight victory
LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Grant Breneman threw for 254 yards and a touchdown, James Holland rushed for two scores and Colgate beat Bucknell 27-3 on Saturday for its 10th straight victory.
Colgate (5-0, 3-0 Patriot League), which leads the nation in scoring defense at 5.0 points per game, has only allowed six points in its last four games — including back-to-back shutouts over Lafayette and William & Mary.
Owen Rockett caught four passes for 132 yards and a score for Colgate. Tyler Castillo made his 10th career interception to move into the top 10 in program history.
Rockett's 86-yard catch-and-run was Colgate's second-longest touchdown pass play in program history. He was left wide open over the middle, caught a short-floated pass and raced down the left sideline untouched.
Holland's 1-yard touchdown run with 8:58 remaining was Colgate's first fourth-quarter points of the season.
Logan Bitikofer was 17-of-37 passing for 164 yards with one interception for Bucknell (1-5, 1-1).
