Cody Kessler added to Davey O'Brien Award watch list

Cody Kessler flew under the radar for most of last season despite spectacular numbers. 

It's safe to say he'll be front and center come 2015.

The senior quarterback was just named to the Davey O'Brien Award list, presented to the nation's top college football quarterback. This really doesn't come as a surprise given Kessler already is being thrust into the Hesiman Trophy picture.

USC's had its slew of Heisman winners, but as Gary Klein at the Los Angeles Times points out, no USC quarterback has ever won the Davey O'Brien Award.
