Coach: No. 7 Clemson QB Boyd will play vs. Citadel

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney says quarterback Tajh Boyd will practice this week and play Saturday against Citadel after hurting his collarbone in the seventh-ranked Tigers' victory over Georgia Tech last week.

Boyd bruised his left shoulder at the end of the third quarter when he was tackled, and was slow to get up. He was taken to the locker room for X-rays and returned a short time later. He said no broken bones were found.

Though Boyd warmed up on the sidelines and tried to talk his way back into the game, Swinney says there was no need risking further injury.

Boyd leads the Atlantic Coast Conference in total offense. He's thrown for 2,960 yards and 24 touchdowns. The Citadel contest will be Boyd's final home game at Clemson (9-1).
