The Clemson football team opens up its home season on Saturday when the Tigers host the Troy Trojans. Here is the pick against the spread for the match-up.
The Clemson football team opens up the home slate of games when the Tigers host the Trojans of Troy on Saturday.
It is expected to be a pretty good match-up, at least in the first half, but Troy will not have the athletes to compete for four quarters.
The Tigers are now 0-1 against the spread after failing to cover last week against Auburn. The game also went “under.”
This week, we will try to get back on track with our Clemson football pick against the spread.
Clemson vs. Troy Pick Against the Spread:
Current Spread: Clemson -36.5
Spread Prediction: 36.5 is a lot of points. Especially in game where Dabo Swinney may elect to go to his two and three deeps pretty early. I mean, Clemson football, could win the game by five touchdowns and still not cover the spread.

I’m going to take Troy plus the 36.5 just because I know that the coaching staff doesn’t typically run up the score. I still think Clemson wins comfortably, but 36.5 is a lot to cover.
Over/Under: 61
Over/Under Prediction: I definitely will take the “OVER” in this game. I think that’s almost a give-me.
If you’re looking for a lock, I would take Clemson vs. Troy over the 61. I expect Troy to score a few points, especially in the second half when all the second and third string guys are in the game and I expect Clemson football to get on track on offense this week.
The Tigers may put up 50 points by themselves.
At the end of the day, I wouldn’t touch that spread with a 99-foot pole. Clemson could easily win by 40 points.
They also could win 35 points and not cover the spread. The over/under is a pretty safe bet, though, assuming something unforeseen doesn’t happen.
