Clemson Football: Could Troy be the wake-up call the Tigers need?
Clemson football has struggled through these first two games. Could the ugly win against Troy be the wake-up call that puts the Tigers back on track?
Clemson football has struggled through these first two games to open the season.
The Tigers barely squeaked out a victory on the road against Auburn and then ended up beating Troy- a group of five team- by six points Saturday.
Many Clemson fans are wondering what’s wrong.
Is it the coaching staff’s lack of preparing?
Is the team not as good as we thought?
Is the offense just running a bunch of bland plays and saving their best for Georgia Tech and Louisville?
Is Clemson just sleep walking through the first two weeks?

To be honest with you, it comes down to one of two things: Either Clemson football isn’t as talented as we previously thought or the Tigers are not putting in the effort they need to.
In my opinion, it’s the latter. Clemson hasn’t played with any urgency, pride, or hunger at all in these first two weeks. They just have gone through the motions and done what it has taken to win.
While it is great to be 2-0, you can’t argue that if Clemson plays the way they have the first two weeks against Louisville or Florida State, they will lose.
Hopefully this scare was the wake-up call Clemson football needed.

Instead of hearing things out of the locker room like “A win is a win,” we are hearing things like:
Finally, the team is admitting there is a problem and know that they must come up with a solution.
Instead of just being content with a win, they are realizing that they have to play better in order to win.
We will just have to see what happens in the coming weeks, but hopefully Troy was the wake-up call this team desperately needed.
