Cincinnati will hire Ohio State defensive coordinator Luke Fickell as head coach

Ohio State co-defensive coordinator Luke Fickell will become the new head coach at Cincinnati, a source told FOX Sports on Saturday morning.

The 43-year-old Fickell, an Ohio native, replaces Tommy Tuberville, who was let go earlier this month.

Fickell was a standout defensive lineman for the Buckeyes and has spent most of his coaching career at OSU since breaking into the business in 1999. He served one season as the Buckeyes interim head coach, when the team went 6-7 in 2011.
