Christian McCaffrey named finalist for Maxwell, Doak Walker awards

Stanford sophomore Christian McCaffrey has been named a finalist for both the Maxwell Award and the Doak Walker Award. 

The Maxwell Award is presented annually to the nation's best player. The Doak Walker Award is presented to the nation's top running back. 

The other Maxwell Award finalists are Clemson QB DeShaun Watson and Alabama RB Derrick Henry. LSU RB Leonard Fournette and Henry join McCaffrey as finalists for the Doak Walker Award.

McCaffrey leads the nation in all-purpose yards with 2,807 and is second in rushing yards with 1,546.
