Christian McCaffrey, American Pharoah in meeting of elite runners
Two of the 2015's top runners got together Wednesday morning in Kentucky, but the rendezvous wasn't what you expect.
For starters, the two speedsters had six legs between them. And one of them is already retired from competition.
The one still playing is Stanford junior running back Christian McCaffrey, who is in Louisville this week to accept the Paul Hornung Award, given out each year by the Louisville Sports Commission to the most versatile player in college football.
While in the area, the Heisman Trophy finalist made a trip over to Lexington, where he took a tour of Keeneland Race Course.

After that, McCaffrey headed to Coolmore's Ashford Stud, where he paid a visit to 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, who recently began his post-racing career as a professional procreator.
McCaffrey is set to receive the Hornung Award Thursday in downtown Louisville before heading back to Palo Alto, where the Cardinal's spring practice is already underway.
