Chris Petersen makes QB decision, won't announce until opener

Washington Huskies head coach Chris Petersen has made a decision regarding his starting quarterback for the team's first game against Boise State on Sept. 4. However, Petersen will not announce the name of his starter until gameday.

“We just really don’t think it’s an advantage to us to tell you our strategy right now at that position,” Petersen said, according to Adam Jude of The Seattle Times

Petersen's choices were junior Jeff Lindquist, who played for the Huskies in 2014, redshirt freshman K.J. Carta-Samuels and true freshman Jake Browning.

“We just think at this point it’s kind of the best for our program to move forward for these handful of days with less distractions — we think it will create a little less distractions,” Petersen said, according to Jude. “And then after that game, hey, we talk about it. I’m sure we’ll be talking about it all season long.”
