Campbell beats Davidson 28-27

BUIES CREEK, N.C. (AP) Freshman backup quarterback David Salmon threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter - including the game-winner with under a minute to play - as Campbell rallied from a 17-point deficit to beat Davidson 28-27 on Saturday.

Salmon finished 9-of-21 passing for 108 yards for the Fighting Camels (4-3, 4-0 Pioneer).

His game-winning 14-yard scoring pass to Ben Bolling came as Campbell was trailing by six with 54 seconds left to play.

Davidson led 27-21 with 1:40 left in the fourth when J.P. Douglas was intercepted by Campbell's Luke Hill and the Camels took over deep in Davidson territory. Three plays later, Salmon found Bolling for the score and the win.

Campbell starting QB Dakota Wolf rushed for a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter and Keith Goss ran for 98 yards.

Douglas threw for 298 yards and a touchdown for the Wildcats (1-7, 0-4).
