BYU officially adds Kaufusi, Empey and Tafisi to coaching staff

BYU's coaching staff is finally rounding into form. Kalani Sitake has his guys in place, and now the Cougars are ready to get to work.

Some are old, some are new. Sitake didn't completely tear down the old regime. Steve Kaufusi will stay on as the Cougars' defensive line coach.

“I’m pleased to announce Steve, Mike and Nu’u as members of our football staff,” Sitake said in the press release. “Establishing the line of scrimmage is very important and I’m confident Steve and Mike will help us do that. Nu‘u gets the most out of his athletes and I know he will help our team be tough and prepared. I’m excited to have him leading our strength and conditioning program.”

Kaufusi has been with BYU for 15 years, and the Cougars' defensive lines have always been a strength of the team.
