BYU football: Jamaal Williams becomes all-time leading rusher

BYU football has a new name in the record books. Now, seven games into his senior season, Jamaal Williams is the schools all-time leading rusher.

Jamaal Williams came to BYU as a 17-year old freshman. It took him just five games to endear himself to BYU football fans nationwide.

In his first four games in 2012, he took 18 carries combined. In Week Five, he was the feature back.

He hasn’t looked back since.

Williams took 15 carries for 155 yards and two touchdowns against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors on September 28, 2012.

Four years and one brief hiatus later, Williams is still running wild.

Williams entered the game against Mississippi State second in the nation in rushing yards (866) and rushing touchdowns (10). After playing the Bulldogs, Williams has added to his already impressive campaign.

It took him more than an entire game, breaking the record on an eight-yard run in the first overtime.
