Butler's defense key to 35-15 victory over Stetson

Trae Hetter ran for two scores and 118 yards and Butler's defense forced four turnovers, as the Bulldogs beat Stetson 35-15 on Saturday.

Rico Watson added 71 yards rushing, and his 51-yard touchdown gave Butler (4-2, 2-0 Pioneer Football League) a 30-15 lead with 1:27 left in the third quarter. The Bulldogs rushed for 240 yards compared to 149 for Stetson.

Butler's defense dominated the game, grabbing three interceptions, forcing one fumble and recording two safeties. Jesse Correll had a sack in the end zone for the first safety, and the second came in the fourth quarter after a Stetson snap sailed out of the end zone.

Jonathan Jerozal threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Rob Coggin to pull Stetson (1-4, 0-2) within a score at 23-15, but the Hatters could not get any closer.
