Boston College and Syracuse scuffle after interception and late hit out of bounds

The Boston College Eagles and Syracuse Orange got a little heated after an interception and a late hit out of bounds in the first quarter.

Apparently the Boston College Eagles and Syracuse Orange aren’t big fans of each other, because things got really heated early in Saturday’s game.

On the opening drive of Saturday’s game, Syracuse quarterback Eric Dungey went deep hoping for a big play. Instead, his pass was intercepted by Boston College’s Williams Harris. Harris then took the ball and returned it 64 yards, nearly taking it to the house except for a tackle from Dungey.

The tackle from Syracuse’s quarterback was a bit dirty, with Dungey throwing Harris to the ground well out of bounds. The Eagles had a problem with that and went to try and defend their teammate.

That wasn’t the best idea on the Syracuse sideline, because it led to a pretty big scuffle with both sides getting heated. Fortunately punches weren’t thrown and the benches didn’t clear. You can see the entire altercation in the video below.

The game resumed shortly after, but it was clear after that play that the Eagles weren’t exactly big fans of Dungey.

Neither of these teams are going to win the ACC, but they were still playing for pride and a potential Bowl Game appearance at the end of the year. With Syracuse at 3-4 and Boston College at 3-3, both teams weren’t thrilled with how their seasons were going and that frustration could’ve led to the scuffle early on in the game.
