Baylor hires Mizzou's Mack Rhoades as new athletics director

Baylor University has hired Missouri's Mack Rhoades as its new athletics director, FOX Sports' Bruce Feldman confirms.

This comes a little more than a month after former Baylor AD Ian McCaw resigned from his position in the wake of sexual assault allegations levied against members of the Bears football team.

Rhoades himself had only been AD at the University of Missouri for a little more than a year. He had tapped former Mizzou player and assistant Barry Odom to be head football coach after Gary Pinkel resigned from his post in December with a lymphoma diagnosis. Odom spoke at SEC Media Days on Wednesday afternoon.

Prior to arriving in Missouri, Rhoades served as VP for intercollegiate athletics at the University of Houston for six years.
