Badgers ranked 19th in preseason magazine poll

We are getting to that glorious time of year for college football fans around there country when preseason magazines become available.

One thing that fans look forward to seeing is if publications have their school in the top 25. Wisconsin Badgers fans no longer have to worry as Athlon Sports has the Badgers ranked 19th in their preseason poll. Despite having a first year head coach and having to replace Melvin Gordon, the magazine also has the Badgers winning the Big Ten West.

Here is what Athlon had to say for their final analysis:

"Chryst has a good track record with quarterbacks, which bodes well for Stave. But the inexperience and lack of depth on the offensive line is a major concern, especially since it’s considered the program’s bedrock. The defense should be solid enough to keep Wisconsin in most games, though Aranda would like to see the Badgers force more turnovers. Wisconsin’s schedule is manageable — at least once it gets past the opener against Alabama — and the Badgers should be able to make a run at a second consecutive Big Ten West Division title."

The Big Ten West be a very good race this season despite being viewed as the weaker of the two divisions in the conference.
